On Tuesday evening, 1 September 2026, Santavana Education Center hosted an English Dhamma talk titled “The Triple Gem is the Heart of Buddhism,” delivered by Jaokhun Chaiwat Panyabowonrat, the Provincial Abbot of Phuket, Phang Nga, and Ranong in Southern Thailand.

The talk was attended by approximately 40 participants from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom, creating a meaningful opportunity for Buddhists and Dhamma practitioners from different countries to come together for learning and reflection.

During the session, Jaokhun guided participants in taking refuge in the Three Jewels and undertaking the Five Precepts. He also introduced a simple mindfulness practice using body gestures, demonstrating how mindfulness can be cultivated through awareness of everyday physical movements.

Khuba James Bhikkhu further contributed to the session with additional explanations and insights. Participants actively engaged in the discussion, raising questions and sharing their reflections and experiences.

Jointly organized by Santavana Forest Hermitage, the Buddhist Missionary Society Malaysia (Sabah Branch), and ALOKA House (Sabah), the event offered participants an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha—the Triple Gem at the heart of Buddhist practice.

More importantly, the session encouraged participants to bring the Dhamma into daily life by cultivating mindfulness, ethical conduct, and awareness in their thoughts, words, and actions.
