In support ofSantavana Forest Hermitage Fundraising Campaign for the New Education Centre, the patronage of Santavana Forest Hermitage will host an arts sharing event with the theme “Ties to China: Chan, Tea, Calligraphy, Guqin and More”, from Saturday, November 19th to Sunday November 20th, at the top floor in SKY Hotel, Kota Kinabalu.
We cordially invite all who are interested in calligraphy, Buddhism and Chinese culture, Chan and tea, Yixing clay and Guqin etc., to join us in the calligraphy work exhibition and the various talks and sharing sessions scheduled.
The calligraphy work exhibition will exhibit the calligraphy works, written in recent years, by Acharya Kai-yin, the Abbot of Santavana Forest Hermitage. These works are now available online for viewing and charity sale. Please check out the link

Regarding Santavana Fundraising campaign for new centre, as a token of our appreciation, those who have donated 10,000 Ringgits or above will receive a set of crystal miniature figurines of Buddha and his two outstanding disciples modeled after the full-sized ones in Sha Men Le Zhu (the worship hall), and special souvenirs of Santavana’s 20th Anniversary – two cakes of Puerh tea (one ripe and the other raw) with “Long Way to Go, Much Weight to Tow” printed on the packaging.

Moreover, lay Buddhists from overseas also donate their own collections for the charity sale. The proceeds received from all sales will be used as building fund for the fundraising of the new Education Promotion Center of Santavana Forest Hermitage.

A special order from, and the processing of which is supervised by, the owner of Pu Wen Pin Tea House, the 2016 “Nv Er Hong” is 100% old tree tea with spring tea leaves picked from trees over a hundred years old in the famous Pu Erh region – Mount Bulang, Xishuangbanna, Yunan, China. The outside package features the calligraphy work of Acharya Kai-yin, in the ancient seal script, adding a hint of elegant simplicity to this item.
